We are an autonomous, non-profit, non-political, non-governmental, non-sectarian and secular organization registered under SR Act- XXI/1860; exempted for tax under IT Act- 12AA & 80G; and by character we are a national level society. We are not the organization for potential modernists. We are 3rd largest govt. recognized scouts and guides movement in India, who works to achieve the goal of scout and guide originally initiated by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907.
Overview of Scout:
- Nature is a scouts and guides playground.
- A place to discover new things and embark on great adventures.
- A place where youth gain leadership skills by leading their peers on meaningful outdoor adventures.
Youth in scouts and guides have fun adventures discovering new things and experiences they wouldn’t have elsewhere. Along the way, youth develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world.
Through a youth-led program, scout and guide pave their own path to outdoor adventure and fun; selecting and planning the activities they want to pursue; surrounded by committed and passionate scouters & guiders who create a safe and inclusive environment.
Along the way scout and guide develop the skills, values and character that will guide them through every future adventure, at every stage a life. The perfect place for kids to be kids, memories are made and friendships are forged through the countless campfires, hikes and overnight camps.
The organization members must accept that they are a traditional scouting organization and committed to keeping alive the principle, law and promises, as devised by the late Baden-Powell. In fact we insist our member follow and use, BP’s original program, traditions, uniforms, morals, ethics, and structure, etc.
We lives by the founders 4th scout law: “A scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other scout”. By selflessly promoting scouting, the organization exclusively and directly pursues charitable purposes in terms of the tax code.
The organization’s funds, including any surplus, shall be used exclusively for the purposes stipulated in the bylaws. The members shall not receive any profit shares or any other benefit from organization funds in their capacities as members. No person may be benefited by administrative expenses not covered in the bylaws, or by a disproportionately high remuneration.
We do not actively solicit members of other scouting organizations to change their membership or affiliation. We recognize that “membership poaching” works both ways, creates animosity and in the end does not benefit anyone, least of all the scouting movements.
